This is a fun shanty town environment I created during my time at the Art Institute's Advanced Texture and Modelling class, taught by Jason Rowells. Along with creating the buildings, scrap metal, and wires, I imported a couple props from other classmates to populate the ground level.

I modeled the environment using 3d Max, texured it in Maya, and rendered in Mental Ray.

Here's an earier render with Ambient Occlusion, the AO information is bound to a separate set of UVs per Asset, so that the placement for color information remains flexible.
